Things that aren't forgotten

Shh. I'm supposed to be studying for my midterms. I think I'm going to just print what I need to print and head off to somewhere bright like Wal-Mart. I’m making a “family” dish for thanksgiving dinner tomorrow night. I’m so excited – a real holiday!

Yesterday I bought a blanket from VV. Icky, I know, but I’ll wash it – there is something so comforting about a blanket that someone has put work into. It wasn’t for me, but it was for someone, besides, it’s pretty. And I was very, very cold.

I love my house but there are still a lot of things I need to get sorted out. I spent a few hours doing two weeks of dishes this morning (I moved in last Sunday evening). I wouldn’t mind doing the dishes on a regular basis, as long as they get done.. I’d rather do them as they come versus meaty (shudder) pots a week later. Besides, I have to shake Socks out of them. He seems to like dead things that have been sitting around for a while. We just neeed…standards! Living with friends/colleagues is a weird situation. It’s different if you become friends after you live together. I’m just vaguely surprised I’m considered a “clean person”.

Last night D. and I went driving around in the dark looking for somewhere to hang out. Would you believe that even a lot of bars/restaurants were closed by 12am on a Friday night?! It was irritating but a nice drive.

I'm beginning to want things I thought I'd forgotten.
